Jacob Dodge Lawson was born on March 3, 2001, but is known professionally as Jvke. He is an American singer-songwriter, producer, and social media personality. During the COVID-19 lockdowns, he started creating TikTok videos for his songs, one of which, "Upside Down", went viral in 2021 with it being used in over 14 million TikTok videos. His debut album, "This Is What ___ Feels Like" (2022), peaked at number 40 on the Billboard 200, while the song "Golden Hour" peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdowns, JVKE and his family joined TikTok, and there he announced his first single, "Upside Down". The song became popular, leading to Charlie Puth approaching JVKE for a remix.

On November 17, 2022, he announced his first tour, taking in New York, Los Angeles and other nationwide cities. Less than a month later, JVKE released "Hero", a collaboration with Martin Garrix and the mobile card game Marvel Snap.

On a livestream on Instagram in January 2021, JVKE announced he would be collaborating with Galantis on a song. That song, "Dandelion", was released in January 2021.

In 2023, JVKE was featured on the track "Angel Pt. 1", a song by Kodak Black and NLE Choppa, and also featuring Jimin of BTS and Muni Long. The song is part of the soundtrack of Fast X (2023).

JVKE released "Golden Hour" on July 15, 2022, a song which he and his brother wrote and produced along with its music video. It was his first song to chart on the Billboard charts, garnering him worldwide attention and invitations to appear on TV shows. He was also named the MTV Push Artist for October 2022.

On September 28, 2023, JVKE released a new single, "This is what space feels like," via text message with a video to fans signed up to receive his text messages. He had previously teased new music on the X social media platform.

His best work is the song called "Golden hour", released as a single on July 15, 2022, it went viral on TikTok later in the year and became an international hit.

Jason Lipshutz of Billboard wrote, "'Golden Hour' has a winning formula: semi-rapped verses full of romantic observations and modern music references, boiling into an enormous, crooned-from-the-gut chorus. Jvke, to his credit, nails the push-pull at the heart of the song, nimble enough to sound nonchalant during the lead-up, then giving his absolute all on the hook, while the racing piano line beneath him is a memorable piece of production that simultaneously doesn't distract from the vocal take." Other Billboard writers called the song an "incredibly well-crafted, fresh-sounding, lush pop ballad by a prodigious singer-songwriter, with a frantic piano hook, soaring vocals, ornate production, majestic presentation and a sense of orchestral drama."

As I said before, this singer sends videos to his followers about many things. Most are usually previews of his songs, but in this case he sent a video to show the affection to his fans just started in 2024.

WHY I'VE CHOSEN JVKE?

As you have seen, there is no doubt that he has a great talent at such a young age. He also has a great heart, and it is reflected in his songs, apart from Lily's history. I recommend everyone to listen all of the other songs of him, because as a musician as I am, there is a lot of talent in there. What fascinates me the most is that he started with all this at home, and thanks to that he has become famous, and we could say that he currently lives from it, something that many musicians would like.
