industrial revolution in America

what is the industrial revolution
The Industrial Revolution was a major change in the way things were made and done. It happened in the late 1700s and early 1800s, bringing in machines and factories to replace manual labor. This shift transformed societies from mostly farming and crafts to more industrial and city-based economies. It led to big advancements in technology, transportation, and how people worked, shaping the modern world.
what caused the industrial revolution
The Industrial Revolution was sparked by a combination of technological innovations, access to key resources, and changes in social and economic structures. The discovery and utilization of abundant coal and iron resources provided the fuel and materials needed for industrial processes. Inventors and innovators introduced new machinery and technologies, revolutionizing production methods. The Agricultural Revolution led to increased food production and a growing population, supplying a surplus of labor for industrial work. The expansion of trade and colonial markets created a demand for efficient and mass production. These factors, coupled with the rise of capitalism, supportive government policies, and a culture of innovation, converged to catalyze the profound transformation known as the Industrial Revolution, fundamentally altering the way societies produced goods and organized labor.
social factor
- The social factor affected the growth of the US cities rapidly with that the market kept growing at a high rate . and it also motivated the middle class which were not extremely wealthy, but were living a decent life. And also it exploded the poor people to stop working in factories and barely being able to live under the harsh circumstances .
economical factor
Prior to the Industrial Revolution, the majority of people in America worked in agriculture, and the country had a mostly agrarian economy. Many tasks were mechanized as a result of the introduction of new equipment and technology, which made the transition to industrial production and manufacturing easier. Significant railroad expansion allowed even the most remote areas of the nation to take part in the national market economy. American society was impacted by the industrial revolution. It gave development to a prosperous middle class as well as a new class of wealthy industrialists. It also gave rise to a blue-collar working class that was greatly expanded. increased the number of job opportunities. The wage earned at factories was more than what people were earning as farmers. As factories developed, more managers and employees required to manage them, which raised the number of available positions and average pay.
environmental factor
The major environmental factors that were impacted from the industrial revolution were the number of pollutants released into the environment and the overcrowded cities that led to unhealthy living conditions. also, the factories impacted the environment and the health of the people, especially the workers that were not taken into consideration with the environment and atmosphere that was being weakened by the coal that was burning all day. Some of the positive affects were participation in politics, and more supplies of food were coming in meaning the prices will decrease.
political factor
- The United States' rise to world power status was one of the most significant political effects of the American Industrial Revolution. Increased domestic and foreign trade opportunities strengthened the economy and prompted the government to become more involved in foreign relations.
- During the Industrial Revolution, working conditions were terrible. There were no safety rules in factories or mines. Factory equipment frequently resulted in injury and, in some cases, death. Improper mining operations and other hazards resulted in mine collapses, exposure to hazardous gasses, and mine explosions. Between 1880 and 1923, almost 70,000 people died as a result of these hazardous conditions. Winter was known as the "explosion season" for coal mining since the dry weather conditions enhanced the possibility of mine explosions.
- Several protests and strikes erupted across the country in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Workers demanded better working conditions, fair wages, and a limit on the number of hours they might work in a day. Disagreements about new worker rights sparked the development of labor unions that fought for recognition. The Great Anthracite Coal Strike of 1902 was a turning point in the politics of the American Industrial Revolution in terms of workers' rights. Miners went on strike in May 1902, demanding more pay and shorter working hours.
