The story of Pocahontas shows that people can be happy together despite differences in culture, religion or skin color. Everyone has their own decisions even if their family, friends... don't like them. Pocahontas and John Rolfe were very happy in their short time together.

CONCLUSION

There is also a film of pocahontas. It was filmed by Disney in the U.S.A in 1995. The producer was Jim Pentecost. Pocahontas is the daughter of Algonquin chief Powhatan, who promises her in marriage to Kocoum, a brave man whom she doesn't love. When European settlers arrive, she falls in love with a handsome man called John Smith. The situation between their people is tense. The leader of the Europeans, Governor Ratcliffe, desperately wants the gold which he believes the natives are concealing. One day, a dutiful sentry called Thomas follows Smith into the woods. Smith was on his way to meet Pocahontas in secret. A tragic mistake leads both groups to the brink of war. Only the love of Pocahontas and Smith can prevent bloodshed.

Pocahontas has Smallpox, it is contagious. Pocahontas died at 22 years old in Gravesend, England, and her family buried her there. John Rolfereturned to Verina farms in America.

John Ralfe died.Thomas Rolfe stayed in England studying. With 20 years go to the farm of his father in Virginia. Thomas Rolfe was a rich and popular man in the USA. He was married and he had children.

Native American from Algonquin tribe. The Powhatan chief had a baby girl called Matoaka and she was a very pretty child. She was curious, loved exploring and meeting new people and she ran after the bigger boys and wanted to play with them. Pocahontas had a wonderful life, other girls helped their mothers, but Pocahontas learned new things. They called her “Playful One” in the powhatan language: Pocahontas

The summer was very hot, and many of the Englishmen became sick and died. They didn't have a lot of food. The native americans helped them by giving food and teaching them how to work on the land. One day, there was a white man walking alone near the village of the Native Americans. The Native Americans caught the white man. When Pocahontas appeared with her dad, they said that He might be a good person. The name of the white person was John Smith. John Smith was integrated into the tribe. One day, John Smith wasn't anywhere to be found, the English people said that he went back to England. An English sea captain had the idea to use Pocahontas to put pressure on the powhatan chief. The white men put Pocahontas in one room. 3 times a day a woman called Hannah brought her food. Pocahontas learned English, got English-style clothes and became very interested in the religion and in the culture.

In spring, three English ships arrived in America. They saw more than 100 men and women with white skin and strange clothes. They spoke a different language. The new people wanted to live in the “New World” of America. They built a town, called Jamestown, and they called the river the James river, because James is the name of the King of England. They built houses and a church inside of Jamestown. They tried to do a lot of work but nothing turned out succesful.

One day, an Englishman, called John Rolfe, came to visit. They talk about many things. Every day he comes to visit Pocahontas. Soon, John Ralfe and Pocahontas fell in love with each other, but there was a problem: Pocahontas was an Algonquin Native American and he was a christian. When John writte a letter to the governor, they were allowed to marry. On April 5, John Ralfe and Pocahontas were married. They had a baby called Thomas. They travel to England. People look to Pocahontas suspiciously. But when they talk for a few minutes, they look just like them. Everybody wants to meet with Pocahontas, she even met King James and Queen Anne. Suddenly, she heard a familiar voice and it was John Smith. He was Alive!
