INTRODUCTION to the course
The spoken English course is a four-day course (1h30 per day) aimed at bettering your spoken English. The course will take place via zoom and will be held in English but please tell me if you don't understand something so that I can rephrase it. There won't be any homework given - except if some exercises are left unfinished at the end of a class.
I'm Madelyn Lines and I will be your teacher for the week. If you have any request, questions or complaints regarding the class, please contact me : - via the zoom chat - via Complétude I'd be very happy to hear about your suggestions !

Course Objectives
- To listen to spoken English and and to speak English as much as possible
- Interact with me and your classmates in English
- Improve fluency and vocabulary
- Improve your listening comprehension
- Get familiar with different accents/variations of the English language
- Learn about idioms and formulations specific to spoken English
- Learn more about the culture of the English-speaking world
- Do some research about a topic that intererst you in small groups and present your conclusions on said topic
- Hopefully have fun an gain confidence in your English-speaking abilities !

Numerical and logistical rules
- Please make sure your microphone and your camera are working
- Keep your camera on during the course
- Keep your microphone on, except when somebody else is talking
- Make sure you have access to the internet all along the course
Manners - Kindness
- Please be respectful of your classmates (no mockery, no snarky remarks)
- Be on time
- Participate in class - you won't improve your speaking skills if you don't practice!
- Please DO tell me if I ever speak to fast or if you want me to repeat or rephrase anything
- Don't hesitate to ask questions!

Introductory activity
- A very brief and playful activity aimed at easing your ear back into the English language
- Work on understanding an audio or video document linked to the theme of the session
- Oral expression exercise linked to the document listened to or, more broadly, to the theme of the session
- Occasional grammar lessons
- 25 minutes of work on your group project

Theatre - Drama
- Practice your analytic skills and you pronounciation by taking part in a bit of drama
- Create and act out a dialog
- Practice your oral comprehension by watching and answering questions about a video game trailer
- Learn to present a video game by using pronouns properly
- Practice using pronouns properly whilst learning about sports
- Give a presentation about your favourite team/player
- Presentation of the projects and questions
- Practice your oral comprehension
- watch an example of a small-sale project
