The objective of this article is to make us understand the scientific (biological, social, psychological) reasons why we binge-watch. This article explains that: - Binge-watching makes you feel good, it’s an easy way to feel good. - Feeling good is pleasant but binge-watching can be unhealthy as it leaves you no time for other activities. - You need to balance binge-watching with the pleasure you gain from it.
Try to give a definition of binge-watching:
Binge-watching is when: - You watch a great number of episodes / a whole season without interruption. - You watch several episodes (= separate parts) of a television series or programme, one after another. - You can’t stop watching episode after episode. - You can’t help watching the next episode. - You keep watching episode after episode. - You are addicted to TV series.
On peut également exprimer l'idée de faire faire quelque chose à quelqu'un avec une expression causative: To make someone do something
Avec cette structure causative, il y a l’idée de provoquer, d’obliger quelqu’un à faire quelque chose. Ex:
I made my son tidy his room this morning ! J'ai obligé mon fils à ranger sa chambre ce matin !
- Have you ever tried watching a popular TV series but found it difficult to get into? - Have you explored different genres of TV series in an attempt to find one that captures your interest? - Can you recall a specific TV series that you started but never finished, and why did you stop watching it? - Have you ever received recommendations for TV series from friends but haven't had the chance to check them out yet?
- What types of activities or hobbies do you typically enjoy instead of watching TV series?
- Have you ever binge-watched an entire season of a TV series in one sitting?- How many different TV series have you seen since you started watching them regularly? - Have you ever experienced the excitement of watching a TV series as soon as it was released, without any spoilers from others? - Have you ever felt guilty about neglecting other responsibilities because of your dedication to watching series? - How many times have you re-watched your all-time favorite TV series, and do you still find it as engaging as the first time you watched it?

On peut également exprimer l'idée de faire faire quelque chose à quelqu'un avec une expression causative: To make someone do something Avec cette structure causative, il y a l’idée de provoquer, d’obliger quelqu’un à faire quelque chose. Ex: I made my son tidy his room this morning ! J'ai obligé mon fils à ranger sa chambre ce matin !
