Joana P. Bringas DNP, APRN, FNP-BC

My name is Joana P. Bringas and I am Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. I have a background as a Registered Nurse, earning my BSN from FIU, and worked as a bedside RN and Charge RN in Telemetry, Med/Surg, Oncology, and Observation units within the Baptist Health South Florida system. After years of working as an RN I went back to FIU for my Master of Science in Nursing and transitioned to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. I practiced as an FNP at Abella Heart working alongside interventional cardiologist Dr. Manuel Abella. This a Cardiology/Vein/Cosmetics/Primary Care practice. I completed my Doctor in Nursing Practice also at FIU (Panther at heart!) and worked on a quality improvement project on the utilization of Telehealth to prevent hospital readmissions in the nursing home patient population. Being a Nurse Practitioner and serving the public by assisting them with their healthcare is a rewarding and gratifying profession. Another big passion of mine is teaching future nurses lead the healthcare industry by providing the most high quality, patient-family centered, and cost-effective care. I am an active member of the American Nurses Association, Florida Nurses Association, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau Pi Alpha Chapter. I am also a mother of two small children who enjoys spending time with my children and husband near the water!
