INDEX

Your cells obtain the matter and energy they need from nutrients. Your body gets these nutrients from the food you eat and the oxygen your breathe.

Nutritrion consists of taking in food and water, breathing oxygen and using these subtances to get energy, live grow and expel waste.

1.THE NUTRITION FUNCTION

Digestion is the process that transforms food and extracts the nutrients. The digestive system then absorbs the nutrients, and they pass into the blood. It also expels any waste products outside the body.
The digestive system is responsible for breaking down the food into tiny components - nutrients. These then pass through its walls and into the blood.

2. Obtaining matter and energy

Blod circulation is the flow of blood through the circulatory system when pushed by the heart

The circulatory system is responsible for distributing the nutrients( absorbed by the digestive system) and the oxygen ( from the respiratory system ) to the cells. It also removes the waste products from the cells so they can be expelled.

3. How are nutrients and oxygen distributed?

URETHA
URINARY BLADDER
URETER
KIDNEYS
Excretion is the process of your body eliminating the waste producs generated by the cells.

4. How does your body expel waste?

A stimulus is any internal or external information that your body can detect. A response is your body's reaction to the stimulus.
The interaction function allows you to perceive things around you and inside your body, interpret the information and respond to it

5. The interaction function

The senses are: smell, taste, touch, sight, and hearing
The sense organs are responsible for detecting information in the evironment around you and sending it to your nervous system. This system processes the information and creates an appropriate response.

6. How does your body receive information?

The nervous system is a set of structures that are responsible for processing stimuli from the sense organs and creating responses. The responses can be movements, substance production, thoughts, etc.

7. HOW DOES YOUR BODY INTERPRET INFORMATION?

The muscles are organs made up of cells that cotract in response to a nerve signal. When muscles contact, they use energy and get shorter. When the muscles relax, they recover their initial shape.
The skeleton is made up of the bones and joints.
The locomotor system is the set of structures that allow us to move voluntarily. It is made up of the skeleton and the muscles.

8. How does your body carry out responses?

Human reproduction is the funtion that allows us to have offspring( children that inherit some of our characteristics ).
