INTRODUCTION TO FIRST AID

When individuals get injured they are usually taken to hospitals or doctors for treatment. But it takes time to reach them, so we shloud know what to do while they reach us. If we learn what to do in each situation we might be able to save people's live.

FIRST AID FOR DROWING

Many deaths occur because of drowning. People die because of drowning when air cannot enter the lungs because of the entrance of a small amount of water in the lungs. This may cause the contraction of the throat.The aim of this first aid is to restore breathing, to keep the person warm, and to arrange for taking him to hospital.

Steps to follow in case of drowning

FIRST STEPRescue the person and get him to the dry land then you should keep the person’s head lower than the rest of the body so you will reduce the risk of inhaling water.

THIRD STEPTreat the person for hypothermia. Remove wet clothes and cover him with a dry blanket. If the person regains full consciousness, give him a warm drink.

SECOND STEPCall an ambulance and while waiting lay down the person on his back and open the airway and check breathing. If required, give Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation with chest compression.

FOURTH STEPUnless the person looks like he is recovered, transport him to the nearest hospital.

First aid for drowning is something essential that we all should know and it is very useful, especially during summer because is the moment when we can find more drowning cases.We also think that we should all know the basics of first ais because we can save people's lives.
