- Empty bottle
- Unlabeled white empty bottle
- The empty bottle was found upon the kitchen counter
- Very little amounts of liquid was found inside the bottle, this indicates that it was used. There was a dent in the side of the bottle indicating that whoever had used it was in a hurry to unhand the evidence without taking any proper measures to cover there tracks.
- The liquid was sent into the lab to get tested, chemists tested the leftover liquid in the bottle to identify what this mysterious bottle held.
Fingerprint on the glass of milk
individual, circumstantial
A single fingerprint has been found on a glass containg remnants of milk. The glass was located on the coffee table in front of the fire place. It was adjacent to the plate of cookies. The fingerprint is an example of a latent print of the oils that have been transferred onto the glass. The ridge lines on the fingerprint is an example of physical evidence and it is individual because the fingerprints will only lead to one person. After further analysis, we should be able to identify who the fingerprint belongs to.
Ring Doorbell footage
The Miller's had a Ring doorbell on the right side by the front door. Upon investigation, investigators reviewed ring doorbell footage from the night of the crime. Around 2:34am the footage shows a green-haired figure dressed in a Santa suit tip toeing past the front of the house. This evidence is direct and individual because it proves to be fact and can be presented in court. THe footage can give investigators a better idea of who the culprit may be. Video evidence when examined can determine the approximent height of the person, what they were wearing, any other specific details and potentially their face. Lastly because the footage has a time stamp on it, it can help create the exact timeline for the night of the murder.
Green hair on the plate of half eaten cookies
A bright green fiber or hair was found on the plate of half-eaten cookies. It was photographed, collected, and preserved within a bindle fold. The hair was only 1 inch long. This evidence is class and circumstantial evidence. Small hairs and fibers are examples of trace evidence, which can be class or individual evidence. This hair did not seem to come directly from the root and no DNA could be collected from it, therefore, investigators used this green hair as class evidence to narrow down the suspects to individuals with green hair.
- Footprint in the snow
- Mens size 9, new balance
- Found outside the living room window
- The footprint in the snow created an impression. this is circumstantial evidence because it implys a fact but does not directly prove it. There are specific wear patterns in the shoe shows the front of the shoe very worn out pattern; indicating a lot of walking on the tip toes. This is individual evidence beacuse we can connect it to a specific someone or something.
- When getting a cast of the footprint, the details should help lead us to a suspect by matching shoes by finding similar wear patterns, size, and brand.
