Leonardo DiCaprio, an Academy Award®-winning actor, has been an outspoken advocate for environmental issues throughout much of his career. In 1998, at the age of 24, Mr. DiCaprio established his foundation with the mission of protecting the Earth’s last wild places and implementing solutions to build a more harmonious relationship between humanity and the natural world. Through grantmaking, public campaigns, and media projects, Mr. DiCaprio has worked to bring attention and funding to the protection of biodiversity, ocean and forest conservation, and climate change.

You may know her as Hermione Granger in the worldwide successful saga Harry Potter. At 31, the young British actress, who has won more than 20 awards for her career, is a committed and recognized feminist. Forrest Gump, one of the most successful and entertaining movies, depicts the story of man with a positive attitude, and qualities we all must possess. It’s the tale of an ordinary man who lives his extraordinary life on his own terms. It covers several years of Gump’s life, who is a kind-hearted, athletically prodigious and a good man. He goes on to influence several lives with his behavior. The message of the movie is to stay optimistic and appreciate life while you have it, because you never know what the future holds. Embrace new experiences and don't take yourself too seriously.

After graduating from Emory University, top student and athlete Christopher McCandless abandons his possessions, gives his entire $24,000 savings account to charity and hitchhikes to Alaska to live in the wilderness. The documentary concerns the captivity of Tilikum, an orca involved in the deaths of three people, and the consequences of keeping orcas in captivity. The American documentary created in 2013 and directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite, Blackfish, discusses the moral controversy of keeping orcas, known as killer whales, in captivity when it results in risks for the animals' wellbeing and humans' safety. It reveals how confinement of killer whales can lead to dangerous behavior toward human trainers. The main claim this film displayed is how the captivity of Killer Whales triggers aggression and is unsafe for humans and other marine mammals.

In the film “La La Land”, Mia is grasping the idea that achieving your dreams takes risk and ambition but comes with a reward. Going through life is a melancholy trip — we will lose loved ones, friends, and good times that we will never have again. We change throughout our lives, and that's just how life is, but when it happens, instead of being sad it ended, we should be appreciative for it happening.

"Up" is a wonderful film, with characters who are as believable as any characters can be who spend much of their time floating above the rain forests of Venezuela. They have tempers, problems and obsessions. UP takes us on a journey through unmet dreams, grief, adventure and renewal. Carl's story is a testimony that we should not live in the past or let the future pass us by. Living in the moment and treasuring our time on earth makes life more fulfilling.
