Small Connections

The amount of time in nature isn’t all that counts— even small, routine ways connections to the natural world make a difference. What do you think about the following statements:

  • I take notice of wildlife wherever I am
  • I often feel a sense of oneness with the natural world around me
  • my personal welfare is dependent on the welfare of the natural world

People who feel that their self-concept is intertwined with nature report being a bit happier. It may not be the biggest predictor of happiness, but the link is quite consistent.”
