Muhammad and the Night Journey (Al-Isra Wal Miraj)

One peaceful night in Makkah, something amazing occurred. The Prophet Muhammad was woken up by the Angel Jibril. With Jibril was a wonderful winged animal called Buraq, prepared for a special task.

Buraq was a unique animal. It could travel really fast, like light. That night, Buraq, guided by the Angel Jibril, took the Prophet Muhammad on an incredible journey.

First, they went to the faraway city of Jerusalem. There, on the Temple Mount, the Prophet Muhammad met earlier prophets like Abraham, Moses and Jesus. They all prayed together.

The journey was only starting. Led by Jibril, Buraq took the Prophet Muhammad up from the Temple Mount through seven heavens. In each heaven, he met various prophets and saw amazing things, while Jibril shared wisdom and knowledge.

When they got to the highest heaven, the Prophet Muhammad talked directly with Allah. He received important messages and instructions for everyone, including the order to pray five times a day.

When he came back to Makkah, it was just starting to get light. But in that short night, he had travelled further than anyone could think of.

Many people were amazed by his story but those who really believed knew how important that special night was and the key part the Angel Jibril had in guiding the Prophet.
