ENIAC, the first computer
The ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer) project, originally known as “Project PX,” was designed and built between 1943 and 1945 at the Moore School, University of Pennsylvania. John Mauchly and John Presper Eckert worked on it along with a team of engineers.This computer was made up of a large number of elements, among which the vacuum tubes stand out (approximately 17,500), invented by the English physicist John Ambrose Fleming in 1904.

In 1623 Wilhelm Schickard invented a device that allowed arithmetic operations to be carried out completely mechanically, the Rechenuhr or calculating clock. This calculator used a complex system of rods and gears that mechanized operations that previously had to be performed manually.
The Turing Machine
This invention comes from a fairly long historical process that has a character as its main precursor, Alan Turing, a young English mathematician who in 1936 published his studies on “Computable Numbers” which contained a device called the “Turing Machine” that It was capable of solving any logical calculation problem known as algorithms. This machine was an important precursor to today's computer processors.
The first virtual assistants and the first smartphone of the history
In 1990, staff from Microsoft, IBM, Philips and Lernout & Hauspie integrated digital voice recognition into their system and in 1944 IBM laid the foundations for virtual assistants as they are known today, through Simon, the first smartphone. Simon was invented in 1994 and is considered the first smartphone in history and among its features it had a resistive LCD screen with a greenish tone and compatible with a digital pen. For this device, IBM created a specific user interface tailored to the device.
