Junto a su mejor amigo, el Orejones López, y su mayor enemigo, el chulito Yihad, la vuelta al colegio Diego Velázquez se convierte en una aventura. La llegada de un nuevo compañero, Paquito Medina, una cita en el Árbol del Ahorcado con Susana o el cumpleaños más feliz del abuelo Nicolás son algunos de los acontecimientos memorables del primer libro de Manolito Gafotas.
