The preterite / past simple
1) We use the preterite to tell about past events.
(= événements du passé)
Ex: When I was 3 years old, I lived in South Korea. Quand j'avais 3 ans, je vivais / j'ai vécu en Corée du Sud.

3) Irregular verbs don't follow this rule. Each irregular verb has a special preterite form.
