Drag and drop

If you drag and drop something on a computer screen, you move it from one area to another using the mouse.

If you copy and paste text or an image you create another version of it that is exactly the same and put it in a different place or a different document.

Upload

to copy programs or information to a larger computer system or to the internet.

Save

to put information into a computer's memory or onto a computer disk.

Highlight

to mark text on a computer screen with a colour to emphasize it.

"Immediately after the lesson it's helpful to highlight important points in your notes."

Share

to put something on a social media website so that other people can see it.

Scroll up and down

to move text or pictures up or down on a computer screen to view different parts of them.

"Scroll to the end of the document"

Log in

to connect to a computer system by putting in a particular set of letters or numbers.

"If you are already a registered user, please log in."

Delete

to remove (part or all of) an electronic document or image.

"She accidentally deleted one of her computer files."

Tap (on)

to touch the screen of a phone, tablet computer, etc. in order to give an instruction for something to happen.

" When I tapped on the update button, the screen went blank."

Type in

to put an instruction or piece of information into your computer by pressing letters, numbers or other keys on your computer keyboard.

" Type in your password."

Click on

to carry out a computer operation by pressing a button on the mouse or keyboard.

"If you want to open a file, click twice on the icon for it."
