The Miami-Dade School Board start introducing Town Hall meetings so parents can give their opinions about the proposal of changing school times due to sleep-deprivation issues. The first meeting is held on Jan. 19, over Twitter. On the Town Hall Twitter page, parents can tweet questions.

First approved by the House after three readings. It passed to the Senate with 92 - 20 in its favor. Later on May 4, the Senate also voted on the bill with a 38-2 vote in favor of it passing.

Governor DeSantis signs the bill changing middle school and high school times in Florida, also receving mixed opinions on the benefits and consequences of the bill.

While the bill was passed recently it will only come into effect in 2026, more specifically the 2026-2027 school year. The three years before it comes into effect is to give schools in Florida time to prepare for the sudden change in times for their students.

The School Board holds their second meeting out of four. As well as their first physical meeting at Dr. Michael Krop Senior High, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This meeting is meant to hear the opinions of the people and also for former Superintendent Carvalho to present his reasoning on the proposal.
