The Browns family fiiled a lawsuit agaisnt toepeka.justices ruled unanimously that racial segregation of children in public schools was unconstitutional

The court believed the segration in schools effected the students eduaction/learning.And seprating children in public school based on race.

James Eastland disagreed with the majority because he says " the south wont abide by nor obey the legistave decison by a poltical body". he beleives the constituion isnt responible for what goes on in the classroom.

Justice Salia took this case.the court sides with crawford/ruled the sixth amendent confortation clause gives defendants the rights to confront witness/ cross -examine their testimony. Crawford v. Washington established the evidentiary rule that a defendant has a right to confront witnesses who testify against them at a trial, through cross-examination.

Michael Crawford and his wife Sylvia Crawford confronted Kenneth Lee over an allegation that Lee had attempted to rape Mrs. Crawford. Michael Crawford stabbed Lee in the torso. Crawford claimed he had acted in self-defense when he believed Lee had picked up a weapon. Lee denied doing anything that might make Crawford believe he was trying to attack him.

This case is important because the reformulated standard for determing when the admission of nereaby statements in criminal cases permitted under the confrontation clause of the amendement.

The case was a majority and no judge disagrred with the case.

This decision had an immediate, profound effect upon the ability of prosecutors to prove their cases through the use of evidence that had previously been admissible via various exceptions to the hearsay rule
