Why is this so important?

It is important to stop and reflect on the principals we believe are are important before we start teaching. We must ask ourselves what do we want to teach? What kind of beliefs will transform my classroom into the best learning environment for students?

During our first year of teaching, it is crucial to develop skills that will work for us for the rest of our careers. Some examples of this can include orgaanization, lesson planning, and getting to know your students and what works best for them.

Developing as a proffessional in the education system can mean making a difference in society. Eventually the children we arre teaching will grow up to become the adults who make up society. Being a deceloping proffessional only benefits your career and the students in your life.

How can we continue to progress our skills after feeling like weve done all that we can?

The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) is always partaking in current reasearch to help educators of today stay current with new ideas and concepts. In addition they provide other recources like conferences and incentives to educators who are constantly attempting to better themsleves.
