POINTILLISM

It's a technique of painting in which small, distinct dots of color are applied in patterns to form an image. Ben day dots: it's a printing method that relies upon small colored dots that are variously spaced and combined to create shading and colors in images

PREVIOUS ACTIVITIES

1st) ARTISTS WORKSHEET

  • Write the name of our artist (ROY LICHTENSTEIN) in the next picture.

2ND) COVER

  • Design the unit cover. Remember! to draw things related to the videos.

3RD) LET'S PRACTICE

  • Individually, draw a fruit. Later, paint the fruit using pointillism technique (DON'T PAINT LIKE YOU USUALLY DO. We just paint using dots). DON'T SQUEEZE!
  • Finally, write the name of the fruit with beautiful letters.

A COMIC STRIP

Imagine that you have been hired to create a newspaper comic strip based on Roy Lichtenstein's artwork. We work in pairs. You need to choose a masterpiece by Roy Lichtenstein and create a short comic strip with just two or three panels. One of those panels, will be the masterpiece itself, but you must continue the story by creating the other panels based on that masterpiece. You also have to add and invent the dialogues. REMEMBER! To paint the pictures we will use the pointillism technique

ATTENTION! We need fine tip markers!

STEP BY STEP

1st) Open your sketchpad. Tear off a sheet. Cut out the square. 2nd) Choose a Roy Lichtenstein masterpiece and draw it with your storyThis means that you can add a dialog.. 3rd) Tear off another sheet. Continue the story with another panel. If you want a comic with three panels, you can divide this sheet into two parts. The "extra" panel could be placed before or after the artwork panel. 4th) Paint everytihing using POINTILLISM technique (PAINT ONLY WITH DOTS). Use markers DON'T SQUEEZE WHEN YOU DO THE DOTS!.

ASSESSMENT
