Style Elements

In identifying style elements in your author's writing, think about what makes it unique: • What makes their written ‘voice’ sound unlike any other writer’s voice? • What specific techniques or rhetorical devices do they use to characterize their personality? Try to describe the style as specifically as possible, and formulate a good working sentence for each style element. Formulating focused sentences will prevent your style elements from sounding too general and will help you make a fair case that you've imitated your author adequately when it comes time to writing your own creative piece.
