How To Navigate Through

MyMerced

By: Ashton Escamilla

Background

At the start of the semester when I found out that I was going to be transfering to UC Merced my main concern was that I wouldn't know my way around the different websites. I found out really soon that MyMerced was one of those websites that I was having trouble navigating. For me it was a little confusing because it was different than what I have seen before.

MyMerced Tab

This is the first tab that you can click on the website. This tab allows you to access everything that is personal to you. It helps you access your cat card, cat courses and email. Not only that it allows you to see information on housing, registration and finacial aid.

Academic Resources

Study Tab

Course Catalog

Library

The study tab allows you to find all information related to academics. From where to locate the library to where study spaces are. It is very nice and convienent because it tells you everything.

Academic Calander

Computer Labs

Study Spaces

Eat Tab

The eat tab shows you all the ways you can get food on campus. From the two different dining halls to the Bobcat Pantry. Uc Merced is very good with providing food to all students living on and off campus. I personally havent used these resources but I know that it has been extremly useful for students.

Live Tab

The Live tab is very useful for trying to be more ingaged with the school. It is specificly for letting students know when and where activities or events are happening. Not only that it gives many other valuable resources like where to find the health and wellness center.

Campus Resources Tab

The campus resources tab has a lot to choose from. This shows everything from the bus schedule and parking spots to items you can purchuse from the bookstore. It is the tab that has all the important resources you may need.

Thank You!

Teach

Include infographics in your creations

Using graphics and infographics helps reinforce knowledge. A plus: always try to include the source. Also, did you know that your students also remember 10% of what they hear, 20% of what they read? Make your content interactive!

Evaluate

Insert a great video for your presentation

And use this space to describe it. Multimedia content is essential in a presentation, to leave everyone in awe. Additionally, it will help summarize the content and entertain the whole class.

Communicate

An awesome presentation:
  • Improve understanding on any topic.
  • Engage the entire class...
  • And keep their attention until the end.
  • Include visual elements relevant to the topic.
  • Display data and information visually.
  • Use interactivity to delve into concepts.

Plan

An awesome presentation:
  • It is clear and structured.
  • It presents information in an organized way.
  • It engages the entire class.
  • It adapts fonts and color to the theme.
  • It includes images and entertains.
  • It represents data and information visually.
  • It uses timelines.
  • It is animated and interactive.
  • It excites the brain through multimedia elements.
  • It does NOT exceed with bullet points 🙃.

Structure

Here you can place a highlighted title

What you're reading: Interactivity and animation can make even the most boring content fun. At Genially, we also create our designs to make understanding and learning easier, so you can level up with interactivity and turn your content into something that adds value and engages.

Design

Escribe un titular genial

When conducting a presentation, there are two objectives to pursue: conveying information and avoiding yawns. To achieve this, it can be a good practice to create an outline and use words and concepts that aid in the assimilation of the content.
