  • start the game with clicking on the green flag then the Pokémon Trainer will welcome you .
  • The Trainer asks for the player’s name and checks if they are ready to start the game.
  • The player is then directed to the coach selection screen.
  • Engage in a conversation with Pikachu, charmander or balsadur , who will give you a little glimps on what their level is and then choose one et voilà!! start playing:
  • Pikachu (Level 1 – Pokémon Names)
  • Charmander (Level 2 – Pokémon Attacks)
  • Bulbasaur (Level 3 – Pokéball Word Catch)
  • To expand PokéPronounce, consider collaborating with:
  1. Linguists and ESL teachers to refine pronunciation exercises.
  2. Game developers to transition from Scratch to a more advanced platform (e.g., Unity for better graphics).
  3. Educational researchers to measure the game's impact on language learning.
  • To ensure the game continues running smoothly, follow these maintenance steps:
1. Regular Bug Fixes & Updates Test all sound files and interactions to ensure they work as intended. Check for drag-and-drop accuracy and adjust if elements do not align properly. 2. Sound & Image Asset Management Replace or update Pokémon images and animations if needed. Ensure that all audio files are clear and match the correct pronunciation. 3. UI and Navigation Optimization Ensure all buttons work properly and direct users to the correct scenes. Improve home button functionality if additional levels are added.

Welcome to PokéPronounce! this interactive game is created with scratch and it intends to make learning english pronunciation more enjoyable and engaging. It is Pokemon 's universe!! So immerse yourself in the game, meet the pokemons , the cartoon's music, interaction with different pokemons and of course a scoring tool to konw if you win or AHhh!!! lose.

*You will find the game in the scratch website file (which is available in the link in the doc). *The lively sprites, vibrant backgrounds, and most of the sounds are added by me weatherusing text to speech feature in scratch or uploading some sounds from the net. *Creating this game I used a strategy that ensures a harmonious combination of elements, which results an engaging and immersive gaming experience.

  • Teachers can integrate PokéPronounce into their lessons by:
Pre-Lesson Activity: Introduce the Pokémon characters and related vocabulary. Discuss pronunciation tips before playing the game. During the Lesson: Assign students to play a level based on their learning progress. Have them practice listening and repeating words aloud before making their choices. Post-Lesson Reflection: Discuss students’ scores and feedback. Encourage peer discussions on pronunciation difficulties and solutions. Assign home practice by providing the game link for continued learning.
  • In every single level you will encounter a character to give you instructions on what to do in the game .
  • You must pay close attention to their instructions so you will enjoy a successful gaming experience.
  • To enhance the game experience, consider these future improvements:
1. Speech Recognition for Pronunciation Verification Integrate a speech recognition extension (outside Scratch) to analyze player pronunciation. Provide real-time feedback based on the accuracy of the spoken word. 2. More Pokémon Characters & Difficulty Levels Introduce new Pokémon with additional pronunciation challenges. Implement advanced levels that focus on sentence pronunciation rather than single words. 3. User Progress Tracking Save player scores and progress across sessions. Allow players to resume their game instead of restarting each time. 4. Multiplayer or Competitive Mode Add time-based challenges where players race to complete levels. Introduce a leaderboard system to motivate engagement.
