The Map of 5 Important locations of G.J.S
Mérida
Uukumil
Mexico City
Tierra Blanca & Xibalba
UUKUMIL
Uukumil- Uukumil is important to the plot because it's where 3 very important things occur. It is the location where the story begins and is the “status quo” for both Casiopea & Martín. Uukumil is also where the inciting incident for Casiopea occurred, which is where Casiopea freed Hun, which caused the whole problem for the Leyva family, and where both cousins initially rejected the call to adventure at first.

MÉRIDA
Mérida- Mérida is a place that holds great significance to Casiopea and is an important location in the story. Mérida is the place where Casiopea was born and where she had wished to return to for her whole life to live there. It was in Mérida where Casiopea first had her loyalty tested when Loray showed her how to escape her bondage by saying that she just had to cut off her own wrist. To which she rejected the offer of cutting off her own wrist stating that her loyalty lies with Hun.

MEXICO CITY
Mexico City- In Mexico City Casiopea’s loyalty was again tested when Martín asked her to join Vucub’s side, saying that if doesn’t help Vucub, where family, including her mother would be ruined. To further try to make Casiopea switch sides, Martín tries to apologies to her for everything bad he has done to her, trying to play with her emotions. But Casiopea resisted and rejected this offer of switching sides in the conflict.

The Black Road of Xibalba & Tierra Blanca
The Black Road of Xibalba/ Tierra Blanca- Tierra Blanca and the Black Road of Xibalba is important to the plot because it’s where the twin gods and where the cousins meet up before Martín & Casiopea descends into Xibalba for the race to the World Tree. This is where both cousins faced their biggest challenge yet of who could navigate the Black Road the fastest to reach the World Tree first. This part of the story also revealed the true nature of Martín, or at least showed more of his true nature, because when he was tasked with killing Casiopea, he didn’t because he was quite weak and helpless without being in a place that gives him power (Uukumil.) It was also in this part of the story where Casiopea sacrificed herself by self-decapitation (though more like partial decapitation) in the name of Hun, thus making him the winner

To the World Tree
The World Tree
The World Tree- This location is important for the story because it's where Vucub gave the throne of Xibalba back to Hun, and where the First Caiman brought the dead body of Casiopea to them for Hun to revive and give his thanks to. It’s in this part of the story where we as the reader could see the change in Hun’s character the most, because instead of killing and imprisoning Vucub, and the ruining the Leyva family, he instead forgave them for what they have done.
