The News 8 December 2023 - St Bede's

Dear Parents,We have had a joyful and reflective start to the season of Advent with some beautiful frosty temperatures and lashings of snow.Sixth form girls have thoughly enjoyed Fr Ambrose's candlelit pre-dawn Masses in the Upper Chaplaincy for each day of Advent spent at school. The whole House enjoyed some beautiful musical ensembles as they participated in the SHAC Rock Concert. Our singers Lucy, Emmanuelle and Ophelia were joined by Anamika on Electric guitar and had the crowds rocking and singing along. Our Year 9s entertained the Year 8 EWs girls in House on Thursday evening and enjoyed getting to know them better while the Year 12s demonstrated hospitality to St Margaret's House on Wednesday inviting them for a Cheese and Wine night.I am extremely pleased to announce our retention of both intermediate and senior House Badminton Cups this week. Martha, Evie, Katie, Kiki & Rachelle did us proud!Fr Philip gave a fantastic homily in House when we celebrated the Feast of the Immaculate Conception on 8th December. He reminded us that Mary is the best role model for all of us.
