Charm's function

The function of this charm is to help a woman who has not been able to conceive a child.

Barrenness was a serious matter in the 17th century, where women were faulted for not being able to produce a child. There were many "treatments" for infertility: herbal, chemical, religious, medicinal (provided by a physician), and magical.

Is it magical?

• Women were very "active" patients when it came to reproductive health. While physicians were involved, there were also many, many home remedies, including magical ones.
