IC Figline Valdarno- 2 E/ 2 F
Classes 2 E and 2 F read "A Midsummer Night's dream" by Shakespeare and used its plot and in particular its context to make a comparison between the past and the present of our planet, how it changed over time. On this digipad we uploaded all our works. Click and enjoy!

Middle School Albert Camus, France
French students have been working on water pollution for several sessions. They found major informations on its causes and its consequences. They have been working on Australia and the Great Barrier Reef mostly, but they also looked for data concerning other countries.
Water pollution and its causes
- - intensive agricultures and the runoff of products (Prathana)
- - waste garbage into water (packaging, plastics..) (Julien)
- - climate change is also a consequence ( the rise of the temperature of the water change its acidification) (Léo)
- -used water - toilets, showers - (Maëlyne)
- chemical products (in industries and agriculture) (Maya)
- -the water is polluted because of the human activities (tourism, industries,..) (Mathéo)
- -the water is polluted because a oil leak (boats and ships - maritimes traffic) (Lilia)
Congo
China
Congo - there is a major pollution because of industries. The consequence are diseases.
In China, 80% of groundwater is polluted
Senegal
Canada
In Canada, around 131 847 tonnes were rejected into the water in 2021 and they included 87 different substances.
In Senegal the main cause of water pollution is the "water sachet" because it's made of plastics and not recycled after.
Water pollution and its consequences
- Consuming contaminated water can lead to serious health problems. From diarrhoea, cholera, hepatitis A, typhoid, to death (Maya)
- In the Great Barrier reef, corals are bleaching because of pollution and the rise of the temperature of the water (Léo)
- Species that live in water are disappearing (Ada)
- pollution in water can be very harmful to humans because we eat the plastic that fish consume (Julien)
- because of the pollution, islands were created, made only of plastic packaging (Fanny)
- water recycling becoming more difficult due to pollution (Maely)
- The quality of water is very low ,due to execessive water comsumption in industry (Caroline)
- Water pollution causes the death of certain species of fish (Maelyne)
Water pollution in Countries
India
France
Phillipines
The Ganges is a polluted river because of industries, tourism, human waste and used waters.
Philippines is one the of countries which has the most polluted waters (
in France - 50% of surface water (rivers, lakes)and 30% underground water are contaminated by pesticides
Mongolia
-Mongolia has a percentage of 39.3% of safely managed water (safe water to use) with 2,063,000 inhabitants that aren’t supplied with safe water at all.
