today?

Now, Stonehenge is made up of big standing stones arranged in a circle. There are larger ones called sarsens and smaller ones called bluestones. The builders were pretty smart, figuring out how to move and place these massive stones without the tools and machinery we have today. People think Stonehenge had different purposes. Some say it could have been a special place for ceremonies or rituals. Others believe it was linked to the sun and moon because of how it's aligned with them. Stonehenge is famous for events like the summer solstice, when the sun rises in a special way. People come from all over to see it and celebrate. Despite all the studies, there's still a lot we don't know about Stonehenge. It's like a big mystery that continues to capture the interest and curiosity of people worldwide. If you ever get the chance, visiting Stonehenge can be a really cool experience!

what was it used for?

Scolacium National Archaeological Park

The Park tells the story of Skylletion, a city of Magna Graecia, which became a prosperous Roman colony, Scolacium. The life of the colony ended around the 7th-8th century AD. C., when the population moved, first to the heights of the theater and then to today's Squillace, due to swamping phenomena that made the area inhospitable.

in the museum

Inside the Park is the Museum where the results of the excavation campaigns are exhibited with an exhibition that traces the history of the city through finds that document ancient life in every aspect. The museum preserves an important cycle of Roman statuary and portraiture. Finally, an extraordinary artefact is worth mentioning: the colossal bronze forearm.
