Evidence of your skills and competency as a language teacher
The immersion practice is carried out in the Fundación Educativa Canaán, located in Cartagena de Indias- Bolívar in the private sector. The educational actors studied in the aforementioned practice are sixth, eighth and ninth grade students. The students are between 13 and 18 years old, belong mostly to the urban sector and must travel for almost an hour to enter the institution during 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. At the academic level, the students present a series of difficulties in the teaching-learning process as evidenced by their low academic.

Definición del Problema. The "Canaán Educational Foundation" is a private sector school located in the city of Cartagena, in the "El Pozón" neighborhood. This educational entity offers education for people of advanced age who wish to resume their studies or finish their studies in less time. Given the previous considerations, and added to the lack of contact with the language, the learning of this second language is affected. Diagnóstico del Problema. The diagnosis of the problem occurred through initial activities in the development of pedagogical practice. It is observed that students do not participate satisfactorily in them, they do not respond to simple commands and orders and they do not recognize many words used in explanations of new topics. It is concluded that the root of the problem lies in the students' lack of vocabulary, due to the situations that surround their schooling. They are young people of advanced age who have withdrawn from school for different reasons and others, for example, seek to finish high school in less time, so there are no habits of language use or knowledge of language structures.According to Halilah (2014), vocabulary as a starting point for managing the language of a second language is essential. The lexicon serves as support for all the skills that need to be developed. These skills are reading, writing, listening and speaking.

For them, the following proposals are proposed: • Create a "Welcome Circle" for classes every day, which starts with a prayer, then some songs like: Hello Song for Children | Morning Stretch Song for Kids https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqDEwPi7vxg How's The Weather? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBL5aXSJTlE What day is it today - Exciting song - Sing along https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfAMjbaHMVU • Create a space within the classroom with cards and materials that allow students to learn vocabulary. • Design gamification activities on different platforms to make interactive learning. One of these platforms is nearpod, which among other things allows students to enter audio and text to respond to different activities. Using this tool can help students develop the 4 language skills. I have designed activities with the topic of food and cooking, in which in addition to learning vocabulary with songs, they will be able to read, write and speak. Implementación del Plan 6th and 7th grade students are really interested in learning new things about the language. For this reason, I consider that in this case the problem is not motivation, but rather the strategies used in teaching. They are also interested in the use of digital tools and the use of applications such as Tik Tok, which is why the students were motivated to choose videos with audio in English that they wanted to learn and record them. It is possible to implement the welcome circle in the classes, saying the prayer in English, using class rules, use of simple orders, among other actions.
DObservación de la Acción.Participant observation, as a qualitative form of observation, allows us to better understand what happens in training. In this sense, through observation it was possible to see how the students have been interested in using the tools available for learning and in listening to videos and songs on their phones, in order to develop listening. Little by little they are improving their skills and knowing more vocabulary on different topics. Reflexión sobre los efectos del Plan Supervision is accompanied by reinforcing students' skills and knowledge of new topics. The process, although it is autonomous and also respecting the interest of the students when deciding their activities, is also a process that must be guided so that they learn better. Acciones de rectificación It favors greater involvement on the part of the teacher and students in the teaching-learning process. Students acquire greater autonomy and become capable of developing their own learning strategies. Knowledge acquisition is optimized
