Support and involvement: community members become active by volunteering their time and services as well as donating items to local homeless shelters or organizations that address the homeless population. Direct support can help address immediate needs and offer short term assistance. Policy change: encourage local, state, and federal politicians to introduce and pass legislation which helps create jobs, permanent housing, and counseling services.
