Objectives

Students will be able to address real-world issues for discussions and be able to develop problem-based activities.

General objective : to improve students’ confidence when participating in class by creating a suitable environment in which they can feel comfortable to share opinions, ideas, arguments and experiences.

Students will be able to be involved in discussions, express their ideas, and debate them in a respectful manner.

Students will be able to be engaged in authentic situations from the real-world, they will interact with peers in a spontaneous way with real-life language use.

Students will be able to talk in class and during discussions with fluency, showing a good attitude towards a collaborative environment.

  1. You will be divided into two groups, each assigned a stance on a controversial topic.

Verbal Harassment and IntimidationBackground Sarah, a marketing executive, has been working in a small advertising agency for three years. Recently, a new manager, John, joined the team. John consistently uses derogatory language, belittles Sarah in team meetings, and often assigns her menial tasks that are not part of her job description. Sarah is feeling demoralized and stressed.
