To begin, you should have received an email from the IT department, welcoming you to your new role. Included in this email will be information regarding your Sage Oak Google Workspace account and your temporary Mac device password.

Now we are going to power on the device and reset the password. Please refer to the welcome email sent to your personal email to obtain your temporary password.

Set Up Your Mac Device

Your Mac device username is:

first initial + last name

It is important to change your device's password from time to time to protect your privacy.Your login password is the password you enter to unlock your Mac when you turn it on or wake it from sleep. It is not your Apple ID password, which gives you access to the App store. The IT Team can create an Apple ID available upon request or you may use your personal ID.

Google Drive

There are ways to proactively protect our students’ information and keep our data private.In the event that an unauthorized user gains access to your device, it is crucial that you do not have accessible downloaded files with student information on your device.

• Instead, we use the Google Drive application to download files to.

• If someone gets access to the computer, we can shut down access to Google Drive by using Google Admin by changing the password on our end.

• Google 2-step Verification is a way to protect your online accounts by adding an extra layer of security.
• At Sage Oak, we require all staff to set-up 2-Step Verification for their Gmail account.

• It is important to set up 2-Step Verification within 3 days or your Google account will be deactivated and will not be able to access your account.

Adobe Creative Cloud

As a Sage Oak employee, you can access the entire Adobe Creative Cloud suite and digital training. Sign into your Adobe account by using your Sage Oak email account and signing in through the Google SSO.

Google Chat

Sage Oak utilizes Google Chat as an instant messaging tool. These tools help our organization to stay connected, exchange ideas, and work together efficiently, even if we are not physically in the same place.

Zoom

• We utilize Zoom and Google Meet to conduct our virtual meetings.
• Both platforms allow staff to have video and audio conferences with multiple participants.
• There are useful features like screen sharing, chat, and breakout rooms to connect remotely.

Sign into your Zoom account by using your Sage Oak email and signing in through the Google SSO.

Depending on your role here at Sage Oak, you will be provided with the necessary technology equipment to conduct your job. Departments and roles have varying needs. The IT department is responsible for assigning tech packages.

Incident IQ

In order to efficiently account for all equipment, we utilize an asset management platform called, Incident IQ. You will be receiving an email from IIQ to review your technology agreement and confirm that you received all of your assigned equipment.

Cyber security is an ongoing effort, so it’s essential to stay informed about the latest threats and security practices.

To report suspcious emails, follow the steps to enable the Phisher tool within your email.

• Open up your Gmail
• Click on the button on the far right tool bar
• Enter the following license:
