Sport for students: physical activities on and around campus

How healthy are your habits? Life as a student is not always easy and it can get a bit messy. How often do you engage in physical activity? Do you play sports regularly? In this module, we will explore the possibilities offered at UGA campus. There are many things you can do, even on a tight budget. Of course, we should not forget to share these good tips with intEGre, in our leaflet for international students!

Let's start with a little warm-up!

  • Was it also easy to find the "right" verb for each sport?

Talking about sport

Activity #1

Why do we "do yoga" but "play rugby"?

Vocabulary Tip!

Les collocations ça ne s’invente pas, mais alors comment les retenir? Pensez à les inclure dans vos notes et lorsque vous apprenez du vocabulaire. Vous verrez, réutiliser le vocabulaire appris sera alors plus facile!
Some words work particularly well together. They form a "couple", or unit, called a "collocation". These collocations can vary, for example, between British and American English.

ORGANIZING SKILLS

So... How healthy are your habits?

People often think that their habits are healthier than they really are. Do you eat enough vegetables? Do you exercise often enough? You will find out during this task, thanks to the Habit Tracker:

Follow the steps:

  • First, print the "Habit Tracker".
  • Next, plan a zoom meeting with your tutor.
  • Then, keep track of your habits for 7 days. It must be done before your zoom meeting.
  • Lastly, discuss your results with your tutor.
"Habit Tracker": to keep track of something = to monitor, to follow, to keep a record of...
TIP: you can write things down in the evening, or use an app!
