What does a printmaker do?
ESSENTIAL QUESTION:
A printmaker is an artist who carves an image that will be covered in ink and stamped onto paper.
VOCABULARY: Printmaker
Katsushika Hokusai was a printmaker from Japan. He lived from 1760-1849. He is best known for his book illustrations and prints. He created around 30,000 pieces of art in his lifetime.

Hokusai was a master of drawing with ink. He would show great detail in his sketches. He would sketch his designs before turning them into prints.
