INTRODUCTION

Famous for its university, the oldest in the Anglo-Saxon world, Oxford is a city in southern Great Britain. Remembered for its very particular atmosphere full of Gothic architecture. It is bordered by the River Thames. Oxford is the city where many scenes starring the most famous wizard of recent years, Harry Potter, are set, so the place is truly magical in every sense.

HISTORY

Oxford, dating back to the 10th century, grew around its prestigious university, established in the 12th century. The university shaped the city's history, becoming a hub for scholars and learning. Oxford played roles in conflicts like the English Civil War and was a center for religious movements. Its beautiful architecture, including Bodleian Library and colleges like Christ Church, reflects centuries of history. Notable figures like J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis were connected to the university. Today, Oxford remains famous for its academic excellence, historic buildings, and as a symbol of educational achievement worldwide.

The oldest university in the English-speaking world, Oxford University is the star attraction of the riverside city of Oxford. With a history dating back to the 11th century, the university's many colleges offer a wealth of stunning historic architecture, not to mention settings for films including the Harry Potter series.

BEICESTER VILLAGE

A luxury shopping destination located just outside the city of Oxford, between London and Birmingham, Bicester Village attracts shoppers with more than 160 shops, from luxury outlets to big name brands. Bicester Village is one of the most popular shopping destinations in England, with over 7 million visitors each year.

BODLEIAN LIBRARY

Located in central Oxford in a complex of historic buildings, the venerable Bodleian Library is one of the oldest libraries in Europe. It is the main research library for the University of Oxford and also a copyright library, housing every book printed in the UK and Ireland, a collection of over 12 million printed items.

BLENHEIM PALACE

Built in the early 18th century, this stately home is one of Britain's largest historic properties. It was given by Queen Anne to the Duke of Marlborough, General John Churchill, for his role in defeating the French at the 1704 Battle of Blenheim, and Britain's beloved wartime leader Sir Winston Churchill was born here in 1874.

our opinion

I would visit Oxford because I find it a lively city, where you can do many activities. As already mentioned it is rich in history, so it is possible to visit many places. The only negative is the food, which in my opinion is not good. Thanks for listening, we hope you have a good day..
