What is climate change?

Climate change is, at it's core, the warming of our planet. With the burning of fossil fuels, cutting down of forests, and farming of livestock, the Earth's temperature continues to increase. This is mostly due to the amount of green house gases that are produced by these processes. As the temperature rises, many effects are felt globally, and chain reactions occur.Citation: Ruv Lemes, Murilo et al. “Impacts on South America Moisture Transport under Amazon Deforestation and 2 °C Global Warming.” The Science of the total environment 905 (2023): 167407–167407. • As deforestation continues, we see a "global increase of atmospheric CFC concentrations", or ozone-depleting gasses.
  • Currently, efforts to combat climate change include halting the destruction of the rain forest by slowing down the deforestation that is being produced by humans.

  • A massive amount of smog is produced in Southeast Asia, with a majority coming from the major metropolitan cities.
  • In addition to smog's effect on a climate level, it's also becoming obvious that an increased effect on human disease can be traced to smog.
