What is coaching?

Coaching is when an individual works with a trained professional in a process of self-discovery and self-awareness. Working together, the coach helps the individual identify strengths and develop goals. Together, the coach and coachee practice and build the skills and behaviors required to make progress toward their goals.

Below are the points from the Coaching Contract, which you will sign within your 1st Session.In signing the agreement, all parties agree:

  • There is no fee for this as the coaching is offered as part of my apprenticeship training.
  • To be honest and committed to the contracted activity.
  • The services to be provided via face to face or remote coaching.
  • To keep all appointments and promptly reschedule when cancellation is unavoidable.
  • Coaching, which is not advice, therapy, or counselling, may address specific personal projects, business successes, or general conditions in the client’s life or profession.
  • To maintain confidentiality regarding all information shared with the coach.
  • Throughout the working relationship the coach will engage in direct and personal conversations. The client can count on the coach to be honest and straightforward in asking questions and making requests.
  • To be open to receiving and giving feedback.
  • To review the contract after 6 sessions and have a ‘no fault’ ending if the relationship does not suit either party.
  • The client has the right to withdraw from the coaching relationship at any time, or to ask for a different approach to be taken.
  • The coach adheres to the ICF code of ethics, a copy of which is linked to above.
  • Completing the 'Contract Agreement Form' here indicates full understanding of an agreement with the information outlined above.
