London Eye curiosities
It was the tallest Ferris wheel in the world and was later surpassed with the construction of the Nanchang Star(in China). The inauguration was held by Prime Minister Tony Blair at 8pm of 31 December 1999, in 2015 it was sponsored by Coca-Cola. Since its opening it has represented a point of reference and a tourist attraction, by July 2002 approximately 8.5 million people had climbed the Eye.
