Bexar County didn't have a high demand for salves as it didn't rely heavily on forced labor and was isolated. However, Afro Americans did not have the best experience in Bexar County.

African American Desents
Although there weren't many ensalved people documented in Bexar country, we can see the many desents of Afro-Americans based on baptisims that were performed on children 3 on under.
Labor that enslaved women/men performed in the 1860's based on their slaveholders occupation.

Residential living pattern indicates African americans lived equally throughout the county due to the need to live within a walking distance of they're work place.

More than 2/3 enslaved individuals were attached to a slaveholder who claimed more than 4 ensalved African Americans. However, 11.7% of enslaved indivduals lived in separate households.

1 in 5 African American males had a job occupation that allowed them the opportunity to live " middle class".
