Understanding the theories

The Psychodynamic Theory

This theory, explains that we are driving to do things do to uncuncious thoughts or "forces". Incidents that may have occur in someones chikdhood also affect them in their adulthood. It suggests that frustation is one of the main facts which drives the individual to commit a crime. On this basis, a person who did not receive love as a child may become a criminal.

The Psychodynamic Theory derives from the famous father of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud. The following three elements or aspects that compose the human personality are crucial to this theory: the id, the ego, and the superego.
