K-POP CONCERTS

k-pop concerts are also special in their way. Two factors that characterise them are the lightsticks and fanchants. The lightsticks are different for each group and are used to create light effects at concerts that change colour at the same time as the other lightsticks. Fanchants are pieces of song that the fans sing at the concert. They do not sing the whole song but only the parts decided by the singers themselves. This creates a nice visual and auditory effect at the concert. it is also a way of being united with the band performing.

Kpop Album

A particularity of K-pop are its albums. In fact, they are like a book or a treasure box to be opened. Each album inside may contain different things depending on the style of the album itself or the group. In each album, however, there are common features that only exist in k-pop. In addition to the CD, there is a photobook: a book in which there is a photoshoot of the group members and there are photocards: small selfie photos of the group members that are collectible.

The group Seo Taiji and Boys started the k-pop era through their English and Korean songs and choreography that have become an integral part of this music genre.

Negative sides

There are also downsides to following and listening to K-pop. Toxic fandom is the main feature that makes other people hate the K-pop genre. As this genre is followed by young teenagers, they misbehave, creating quarrels between fandoms of various groups and becoming possessive of their favourite idols. Listening to the K-pop genre unfortunately faces prejudice from ignorant people who make racist comments about the genre and criticize those who listen to it. The K-pop fandom is always ready to help their favourite group climb the charts to create wars on social media with other fandoms by creating hatred.

Positive sides

Many K-pop groups give a teaching, telling a story through their songs that help teenagers. One example is the BTS album series called "Love Yourself" which it teaches young fans to love themselves creating a lot of awareness among young minds. The idols then become a reference point of the fandom, where they are the perfect example of performing flawlessly

When you enter the world of K-pop, it is hard to get out of it, however, there are not only bad aspects. First of all, you become aware of a fandom that has now become worldwide. You can easily meet people from all over the world with the same passions as you. By learning about K-pop, you enter the world of Korean culture becoming an enrichment to your knowledge, studying the ways of Koreans but also all the other cultural factors such as its history and cinema.

K-pop meetings

Another factor that distinguishes K-pop from other music genres is the meetings. There are three different ways to meet your favourite idol. There are online meetings that you can win by buying albums and you can talk on video call for a few minutes. In fan sign, you can meet them live, talk to them for a few seconds and have them sign your album. In fan meetings, you can play games with your favourite band and watch them perform and have fun.

K-POP

K-pop is a musical genre. The word 'k-pop' is composed of 'K', Korean, and 'pop', its main genre. It defines itself as a genre in its own right by having lyrics in English and Korean. Its characteristics that differentiate it from other types of music are:

-Having groups: there are few solo singers and it is more difficult for them to be successful. -Trainees: 'Trainee' is a period of time when the singer becomes an idol. After passing auditions for a record company, a trainee phase begins in which singing, dancing, rap and songwriting are practised. All this is done without breaks and with a sleeping time of three to four hours per night. Every month you are judged by experts and the Trainee period is indefinite. You may not even debut in a group and never become famous.
