HISTORY
Morocco, in North Africa, has a long history. It was ruled by different civilizations like the Phoenicians, Romans, and Arab Muslims. Powerful dynasties like the Almoravids and Almohads expanded Morocco's influence. In the 16th century, Morocco became a trade center under the Saadian dynasty. European countries tried to colonize Morocco in the 19th and 20th centuries, but it remained independent. In 1956, Morocco gained full sovereignty from France. Today, Morocco is known for its culture, cities like Marrakech and Fez, and beautiful landscapes that attract tourists.
