What is Annotate Pro?
A digital app that integrates with Microsoft Word, Canvas, and Office 365 via a web browser extension to house a built-in feedback repository of embeddable items containing linked resources and a library of items related to writing development, dissertation content, mechanics, grammar, and APA style. Leverage a custom-built feedback repository to more quickly and efficiently provide effective, dialogic writing feedback to students.

Getting Started
NOTE: These are only for TOPS Course instructors. If you are recommending AP to a fellow teacher, they will use different credentials.
To get started with Annotate Pro, you will need three sets of credentials. You will primarily only use the AP credentials day-to-day. To initially set the program up, you will need to use the Microsoft Account to log in to MS Word Desktop. If you get logged out or need a security code from either Google or Microsoft, you will be able to log in using these credentials. Please do not change or 'forget' any of the passwords.

Got an idea?
Let the communication flow!
With Genially templates, you can include visual resources to wow your audience. You can also highlight a particular sentence or piece of information so that it sticks in your audience’s minds, or even embed external content to surprise them: Whatever you like! Do you need more reasons to create dynamic content? No problem! 90% of the information we assimilate is received through sight and, what’s more, we retain 42% more information when the content moves.
- Generate experiences with your content.
- It’s got the Wow effect. Very Wow.
- Make sure your audience remembers the message.
Comment Name Error
Because you have a TCS account logged in to your computer as well, when you open the Annotate menu, you will get an error called "The comment author names don't match," which will need to be cleared. You will just click on CLOSE at the bottom of the pop-up menu, and the error will be resolved.
Comment Names
File -> Options -> General
Because Annotate Pro is shared by all who have the TOPS License, you will need to change your comment settings so that all of your comments show up under your name and not "TOPS Instructor." To resolve this, follow these steps:
- Follow: File -> Options -> General
- In the General menu, look for Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office
- Enter your desired User Name and check Always use these values regardless of sign-in to Office
- Save and close
Office Add-In
To use Annotate Pro, you need to add it as a menu in your MS Word application where it will host the library of feedback items.
- Go to the Home menu
- Click Add Ins on the far right side
- At the bottom of the pop up menu, select Get Add-Ins
- Search for Annotate Pro and install its add-in
Microsoft Login
Because The Chicago School Microsoft system accounts do not allow us to make installation changes to our MS Word subscriptions, you will need to Add an account.
- Click on your name in the upper right
- Select Add an account
- Login:
- topsinstructor@gmail.com
- TOPS.AP!
