Lungs

Heart

Right Atrium

One of the four chambers of the heart.Recieves blood from the veins and pumps it to the right ventricle.Recieves blood low in oxygen from the body and empties the blood into the right ventricle.

Circulatory System

moves oxygen, nutrients, and hormones to your body's cells to use for energy, growth, and repair.removes carbon dioxide and other waste products that your cells do not need. How blood moves through the body."Feeds" the other systems by transporting blood and nutrients to cells.

(Cardiovascular System)

Pulmonary Artery

Carries deoxygenated blood from the heart to the lungs for removal from the body during exhalation.Blood vessels that carry oxygen-poor blood from the right side of your heart to your lungs. Carry blood at higher pressure due to pumping of the heart."pulmonary" means something that affects your lungs."artery" means blood vessels that carry blood away from the heart to all parts of the body.

Right Ventricle

One of the four chambers of the heart.Recieves blood low in oxygen from the right atrium and pumps it to the lungs for oxygenation. CO2 gets eliminated.Goes through the Pulmonary Artery to get to the lungs.

Left Ventricle

The strongest of the four chambers of the heart. Pumps oxygen- rich (oxygenated) blood to the rest of the body through the aorta.Gets blood from left atrium. Its vigourous contractions create our blood pressure."vigourous" means forceful, strong, healthy, and full of energy.

Left Atrium

One of the four chambers of the heart.Recieves oxygenated (oxygen- rich) blood from the lungs and pumps it to the left ventricle. It gets the blood from the lungs through the pulmonary vien.

Heart

Heart is a muscle that pumps blood around the body.Right side: recieves blood from the body and pumps it to the lungs.Left side: recieves blood from the lungs and pumps it out to the body"Blood" provides your body with the nutrients and oxygen the body needs. Also carries away waste.

Aorta

Largest artery in the body that originates in the heart and distributes oxygenated blood to all parts of the body. Passes over the heart from the left ventricle and runs down in front of the backbone. Recieves blood from the left ventricle.

Pulmonary Vein

Carries oxygenated blood from the lungs to the heart for further circulation in the body. Veins that transfer oxygen-rich blood from the lungs to the left atrium in the heart. The blood flows at lower pressures in the veins and its walls are thinner."pulmonary" means something that affects your lungs."vein" means blood vessels that carry blood towards the heart.

Pulmonary Capillary

The smallest blood vessels inside of the lungs, attached to the walls of the alveoli. Supplies oxygenated blood to the rest of the body and eliminates carbon dioxide from the circulation.Facilitate the exchange of oxygen, nutrients, and wastes between the blood and the tissues."pulmonary" means something that affects your lungs."Capillary" means very thin blood vessels that form networks throughout the bodily tissues.

Lungs

Spongy, pinkish-gray organs in your chest. When you breathe in (inhale), air enters your lungs and oxygen from that air moves to your blood and goes to the left atrium. When you breathe out (exhale), carbon dioxide moves from your blood in the right ventricle and goes to the lungs.
