Fehling's Liquor Carbohydrate Test

  • Crush the candy into pieces and then put it in the hemolysis tube

Lab coat obligatory

  • Add ultrapure water and homogenize
  • add a few drops of Fehling's liquor

Nitrile gloves + goggles

  • Place the hemolysis tube in the Mari bath

  • pour a few drops of picric acid into a test tube containing 1ml of solution

  • Homogenize and wait a few seconds
  • Discard the used material in a special trash can, observe if there are any yellow needles.
yellow needle = presence of potassium ion
