Haiti: Sinking Beauty

Rising sea levels threaten to drown Haiti, as it is a small island nation surrounded by ocean. Other island nations like Havana and Hawaii are also going to deal with the adverse effects of climate change. In addition to rising sea levels, climate change also increases the severity of weather events.

The Consequences:

Haitis drowning would not be alone, as it is likely its neighbors would likely drown along side it. With this information it is likely that its disappearance would not harm the economies of surrounding islands, as they too are gone. Unfortunatly for us in the U.S.A, 52% of Haiti's exports are bought by us. This includes a wide variaty of things from fish and fruit, to cloths and furniture.
