Simple present

When?

We use the Present Simple: - to talk about routines and daily habits (hábitos diarios). Ex: I brush my teeth three times a day - To talk about things that are always true Ex: It rains a lot in winter A dog has four legs .

SOME EXAMPLES USING THE PRESENT SIMPLE Wake up (despertarse). Eg. I wake up at 7 o’clock (Me despierto a las 7 en punto) Get up (levantarse de la cama). Eg. I get up at 7:15 Wash my face (lavarse la cara). Eg. I wash my face Take a shower (ducharse). Eg. I take a shower every morning Have breakfast (desayunar). Eg. I have breakfast at 8 Brush my teeth (lavarse los dientes). Eg. I bush my teeth Get dressed (vestirse). Eg. I get dressed /She gets dressed Comb (peinarse). Eg. I comb my hair Go to school (ir al colegio). Eg. I go to school at 8: 30

Take a break (tomar un descanso). Eg. The students take a break at 11:30 Leave school (salir del colegio). Eg. I leave school at 2 pm Go home (ir a casa). Eg. This tense is to express your everyday activities at home, school, with friends etc.; in other words they are habitual actions. If you remember the verbs can change in sentences with affirmative form. Some phrases that indicate present tense are: in the morning, in the afternoon, every day, on weekdays, at the weekends etc.
