ANTHROPOMETER

It is an instrument used to measure a person's height and weight. It's used to calculate the Body Mass Index (BMI) and determine if a person is overweight or at risk of obesity-related diseases.

Bioimpedance scale

The bioimpedance scales, also known as electrical bioimpedance scales are a type of electronic scales that not only measure a person's weight but also calculate specific parameters related to body composition:

• Percentage of muscle
• Body fat
• Water

Dynamometer

The dynamometer is an instrument used to measure a person's muscle strength. It's used to assess muscle strength and determine if a person has muscular weakness.

Skinfold caliper

Measurement of Skinfold Thickness

A skinfold caliper is an instrument used for the measurement of the thickness of a skinfold, wich can be composed mainly by subcutaneos fat, this way, a skinfold caliper helps to calculate body fat percentage. Measuring skinfolds in key locations, can be a quite accurate representation of the total body fat.

The instrument is designed to determine selected dimensions of the head (e.g.morphological facial height, nasal height and width, the distance between eye corners, lower jaw height, mouth width, physiognomical ear length, etc.), hand width, foot width,etc.

PELVIMETER

It is predominantly used for measuring the width and depth dimensions of the adult population. It also, can theoretically identify cephalo-pelvic disproportion, which is when the capacity of the pelvis is inadequate to allow the fetus to negotiate the birth canal.

SOFT METRIC TAPE

It is used to measure girth dimensions. It needs to follow the girth accurately, that means, to adhere to the body and at the same time not compress the soft tissue. It's used to assess fat distribution in the body and determine if a person has a higher risk of obesity-related diseases.

Stadiometer

Measuring patients' height is a fundamental factor in anthropometry and in determining the appropriate criterion for each case. Stadiometer is a device used to measure the height of a person. It is commonly used in clinical settings to assess nutritional risk and calculate dietary requirements.

Sphygmomanometer

An sphygmomanometer or blood pressure monitor is a medical instrument used for the indirect measurement of blood pressure, typically providing measurements in millimeters of mercury.

Body composition analysis software

Body composition analysis software is a tool that helps to measure the amount of fat, muscle, and bone in the body. It is used to assess the overall health of an individual and to monitor changes in body composition over time. This instrument is directly related to the bioimpedance scale, as it this software works by analyzing the electrical impedance of the body.
