Among its most important buildings are: the Basilica of Santa Sofia, the churches of Saints Sergius and Bacchus, that of Saint Irene and that of the Holy Apostles, all of them in Constantinople (present-day Istanbul).
JUSTINIAN CREATOR OF ROMAN LAW
Justinian produced the most important legal work of Roman Law: the Corpus Iuris Civilis. The Corpus iuris civilis is a compilation of imperial constitutions and Roman jurisprudence. Justinian, in his desire to formalize the legal system of the Empire, carried out the largest compilation of Roman Law of the time. The current law comes from these Roman laws.
