when Adolf Hilter came into power, many Jews moved to Palestine from all over the world, and that triggered Arabs in Palestine.
Palestine is a region in the Middle East. In 1948 when most of Palestine became part of Israel, that's when the bitterness started between Palestinian Arabs.
Palestine is also called the Holy Land, the sacred place for 3 religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

In 1947, Britain turned to the United Nations(UN) to help however Arabs rejected the proposal to separate Jews and Arab states.
Even after the rejection, Israel was created in 1948 as a Jewish homeland. The creation led to many wars which led Israel to take lands from the Arabs.
The lands Israel took from Arabs were two parts of Palestine called the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

lesson 3: peace?
Many Palestinians had to leave their homeland. In 1964, they formed a movement called the Palestine Liberation Organization(PLO).
The agreement did not bring peace to the region. One group of Palestinians opposed to peace talks. The group called the Hamas.
In 1993 Israel and the PLO came to an agreement. Israel came to an acceptance that Palestinians would gain control of the West Bank and Gaza Strips.

An estimated 1 million Gazans have been displaced from their homes.
There was a surprise attack on Israel by HAMAS on October 7th, 2023.
President Biden has announced a plan to help Palestinians in Gaza and West Bank.
In response to the attack, Israel declared War on HAMAS.
reportedly more than 1,400 Israelis and about 3,785 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed as of October 19th.
Israel's government has halted the supply of electricity, food, water, and fuel to Gaza.
